June 8, HSU and the UCM held a symposium for English teachers of international innovation class. Xie Jie, Director of Public Foreign Language Teaching Department, Ma Yunyan, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Center, Wang Zhiyuan, International Cooperation and Exchange Center, Wang Hongai, Department of Foreign Languages, Li Wei and Shang Huazhen, Public Foreign Language Teaching Department; and teacher representatives from the University of Central Missouri: Valerie Heming, Director of the School of English Language, English instructor: Karen Thomas, Dee Vosieva, Angela Monaka attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ma Yunyan.

At the symposium, Ma Yunyan firstly briefly described the background of the cooperation between the two schools and introduced the "3+1+1" international innovation class program, and She also gave her hope for further cooperation between two universities. Valerie Heming gave a detailed explanation of the on-campus English exams of the University of Central Missouri and highly praised the English proficiency and professionalism of the 15 students who passed the International Innovation Class program at our university. Xie Jie introduced the teaching situation of Public Foreign Language Teaching Department in our university and the teaching scheme of English courses for the Chinese side in the International Innovation Class Program. Subsequently, English instructors from both universities held an in-depth discussion on the teaching of the international innovation class.
